How do I erase all data from my PS5?

Turning off Console Sharing and Offline Play doesn't wipe your console, so please do both.

To wipe the data from the console that you are trading in:

Go to Settings > System > System Software > Reset Options.

Select Reset Your Console, then Reset.

If you can't reset it, send it anyway. We securely wipe every console we receive.

Do I need to sign out of my PlayStation account first?

No. A factory reset removes your account, and a console that's still signed in won't delay your payment.

We recommend changing your PlayStation account password once your console has left you.
